Able Home Health Care Senior Services, Inc.

Strengthening Seniors. Supporting Families. Stabilizing Communities.
Able Home Health Care Senior Services, Inc. (AHHCSS) works to create meaningful, lasting change for older adults, adults with disabilities, family caregivers, and rural communities throughout Nash, Edgecombe, Halifax, Northampton, and Wilson counties.
Building on the more than 26-year legacy of Able Home Health Care, LLC, our nonprofit addresses practical needs that may fall outside the limits of Medicaid, Medicare, insurance, and traditional aging programs.
Through HOPE, HELP & HOME, we connect seniors and families with practical assistance, education, advocacy, trusted resources, and community partnerships that promote safety, dignity, independence, and stability.
What Community Impact Means to Us
Community impact is not measured by services alone. It is reflected in the difference those services make in people’s everyday lives.
Impact means:
These individual successes contribute to stronger families and healthier, more connected communities.
Our Areas of Impact
Senior Safety and Independence
Through assessments, individualized support planning, resource navigation, referrals, transportation assistance, nutrition support, wellness education, and social connection, we help seniors address barriers that may threaten their independence.
Our desired outcomes include:
Stronger Families and Caregivers
Family and unpaid caregivers often carry significant physical, emotional, and financial responsibilities. AHHCSS helps connect caregivers with education, respite coordination, practical resources, peer support, and community services.
Our desired outcomes include:
Safe Homes
Through the developing Aging Safely at Home initiative, AHHCSS will help older adults identify home hazards and accessibility concerns that may interfere with safe living.
As funding, qualified partners, and program capacity become available, our desired outcomes include:
Reduced Isolation and Greater Connection
Social isolation can affect an older adult’s emotional health, physical well-being, and overall quality of life. Companion visits, telephone reassurance, wellness checks, volunteer engagement, and social activities can help seniors feel connected and supported.
Our desired outcomes include:
Women’s Leadership and Community Service
Through Women Empowering Seniors, we engage women as caregivers, advocates, volunteers, mentors, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
Our desired outcomes include:
Stronger Community Capacity
No single organization can meet every need alone. AHHCSS prioritizes partnerships that expand access, reduce duplication, and bring the right expertise to each situation.
By working with service providers, community organizations, volunteers, educational institutions, businesses, and local leaders, we seek to:

Strengthening Rural Communities
In rural communities, limited transportation, food insecurity, caregiver shortages, social isolation, and difficulty locating services can quickly place a senior or family in a vulnerable position.
AHHCSS works to address these concerns through early identification, coordinated referrals, practical support, and strong local partnerships.
By bringing organizations and community members together, we aim to:

AHHCSS carries this legacy forward through a nonprofit mission focused on needs that often extend beyond traditional healthcare coverage.
A Ripple Effect of Care
When an older adult receives the support needed to remain safe and connected, the impact extends far beyond one person.
A senior gains confidence.
A caregiver feels supported.
A family becomes more stable.
A volunteer discovers a meaningful way to serve.
A community becomes more connected.
Every service, referral, partnership, donation, and volunteer hour can create a ripple effect of compassion, dignity, stability, and hope.
Real Support. Lasting Stability. Meaningful Community Impact.
Help Us Expand Our Impact
We invite foundations, corporations, healthcare and behavioral-health providers, churches, civic organizations, local governments, educational institutions, skilled professionals, community leaders, and volunteers to join us.
